Laws refer to the general statutes applicable to the practice of general contracting in North Carolina. Regulations are the sections of the North Carolina Administrative Code defining the operations of the Board and its authority as an occupational licensing board. 

The Homeowner's Recovery Fund, enacted in 1991, provides assistance to eligible North Carolina homeowners who have suffered a financial loss caused by the dishonest or incompetent conduct of a licensed general contractor.
